Writing

Carolyn Dever and George Justice write together and separately on faculty and administrative leadership in higher education.

As Frank Midler, David Williamson, and as himself, George has written short pieces on faculty development and leadership in the Chronicle of Higher Education for nearly fifteen years. Most recently he has published How to Be a Dean with Johns Hopkins University Press, part of their Higher Education Essentials series.

Carolyn and George continue to write for the higher education press, together and separately. Recent pieces have appeared in The Chronicle of Higher Education, Times Higher Education, Inside Higher Ed, Public Books, and The Conversation.

Committed to the ongoing power of the written word, Dever and Justice together are working on Beyond the Dark Side, a set of short pieces and a longer argument about the future of faculty leadership.
